Ever since I can remember, I have loved pearls, when I was a little girl I used to sneak into my mums jewellery cupboard and play dress-ups with her pearl bracelets and necklaces, when I was 21, I was spoiled with a pair of beautiful Tiffany Pearl stud earrings, and so my collection began. The Pearl drop earrings I am wearing here, were a Christmas present from me to me in 2011, they are so classic I will be wearing them forever.
While I might be forever dreaming of adding a Chanel pearl necklace to my collection, Chanel keep having price increases and that dream seems to keep wavering off into the distance. In the meantime Pearls are having a clear moment popping up as embellishments everywhere and on everything. While I am generally cautious not to buy too heavily into trends, I don’t mind jumping on this one as its a detail I have always and will always love.
I found this skirt in Zara at the start of January on sale for less than $40! It couldn’t have been a more serendipitous shopping moment. I had been looking for a high waisted denim skirt for the longest time but all the ones I was finding were either too short, not stretchy or $280+ and then there it was 15 metres in the door on a sale rack with all the details I wanted plus pearls!
I just love how the pearl detailing on this skirt take a simple white tee, denim skirt, ankle boots look from such a basic weekend uniform outfit to that bit ‘extra’. I will acknowledge obviously I think the belt goes a little way to assist also.
I am so happy I found this gem, I have been wearing it every chance I get, dressing it up for Friday night dinner and dressing it down for weekend brunch and everything in between ♥
